what i'm reading wednesday
i just read, Resurrection Year by Sheridan Voysey and thought it was a great book! It's about Sheridan and his wife, Merryn, and their struggles with infertility; something that i can relate with. After 10 years of trying to have a baby, trying to adopt, their dreams have not come true to become parents. The book reads more like a journal. it shares intimate details of their lives and turning their broken dreams into new beginnings. He is very transparent with their journey through the wilderness. One of my favorite quotes from his book is, "Our time in the wilderness is a place of transition. Because the wilderness is the ground between what was and what will be- the place between slavery and freedom, between immaturity and wisdom, between God's promise and its fulfillment, between who we were and who we are to be. In the wilderness we become people we could never have become before moving into the next phase of our lives."

As women, we are always looking for someone to relate to. Someone who has walked the same path as us and understand what it is like. In the book, The Blessed Woman by Debbie Morris, she writes about different women in the bible that can teach us different lessons about being a woman. The women in the bible were real women too, with real struggles, heartache and joys that they experience as a woman. I love that the women in the bible can be our mentors and we can gleam insight from them.
