our summer has been filled with reading!

my little lady has a book club that she is apart of.  four cute little girls holding their first book club meeting.  they've decided to read little women (kid version) for their first book.

this is how we roll every week to the library...thank goodness for my stroller, it saves my back!

we enrolled in 3 summer reading programs, since i knew they would have no problem completing it.  they've scored some fun prizes too!  free books, free tickets to a couple amusement parks and a backpack.

a new addition

please let me introduce our newest member of our family...Shelby!

Shelby is a box turtle and was found in my friend Megan's backyard.  last friday night, she posted on fb that she had found this turtle and was wondering what they should do with it.   you see, my little lady has been asking for a turtle for about 2 years now and i told her we would take it if they didn't want it.   first thing saturday morning, we jumped in the car and picked up the turtle.  my little lady was thrilled!  i think Megan might just be her favorite person now!

my husband whipped up a little habitat for Shelby to live in.  not like we had anything else to do!!!  

apple juice in a can

i took my kiddos out to lunch the other day and this little can of apple juice instantly reminded me of my childhood.

my dad would buy us little cans of apple juice just like this one, whenever we went camping.  i just remember it being so special.  we drank apple juice at home in a cup but these were fun because it was in individual cans and i guess i felt it was a special little treat to have my own.  plus, doesn't everything taste better when you are camping?

Awana Award Night

our two kids completed another year of Awana.  i can't believe how much they have learned and how many verses they have memorized!

mother/daughter tea

a couple of weeks ago my little lady and i went to a mother/daughter tea hosted by her pioneer girls group.  i just love this group of girls and the amazing Godly influence they have on her and the love they pour out onto my daughter!

we enjoyed a nice tea party, with all the yummy treats and the girls got their awards.

three years ago, we got to hold this precious little boy in our arms!

he is such a blessing to our family and i'm so glad God has allowed us to be his parents. he is quite the character and a smarty pants!

last friday, we had a party for our little lady to celebrate her 8th birthday!  we played games, ate dinner, opened presents and had a wonderful time!

our little lady turned 8 years old last week!  i'm not good with my children getting older...it's so hard to watch them get bigger!

we surprised her with 8 balloons in her room.  i'm surprised that she still remains asleep while we decorate her room and turn on the lights!

she woke up to us singing "happy birthday" to her!

she enjoyed opening her presents and we took her out to lunch.  we spent most of the day building legos...she was blessed to receive some fun lego sets!

in the evening, we rode our bikes to the park and the yogurt shop.  we ended the day by snuggling and watching the movie Frozen.
