couponing deals

i found some great deals at walgreens this week. we don't have t.v. but i've heard about the extreme couponing show. i'm definitely not that crazy, but i do like scoring some great deals. i desire to be a good steward of the money God has given us. couponing does take a bit of preparation but the savings are huge. i also only buy what we use. one thing i love about couponing, is that i don't pay for 98% of all of our toiletries. both my husband and i wear contact lenses, so i love when i can get it for free. it can run around $10 per box. i love putting the money we save toward things that are far more fun than paying full price for a box or tampons or toothpaste!

here's a break down of my deals...
5 boxes of contact solution...all FREE after register rewards
3 packages of hair bands...all FREE after register rewards
4 bottles of lotion...$1.00 each
2 shaving creams...$.49 after register rewards
1 thermacare heat wrap and 1 bottle of advil 50ct...$.49 each after register rewards
2 packages of huggies swim diapers...$2.99 each
4 kraft mayo...$1.47 each
4 packages of chips ahoy cookies...$.25 each
5 candy bars...$.49 each.
i spent $65.48 out of pocket, but when you deduct all the $46.00 in register rewards i received, my total comes down to $19.48.

Not too bad for a days work!

i hope my savings will inspire you to save too!

couponing...

I love getting a deal, but I also love sharing deals!

Mainly because I want others to benefit from them too.

Who doesn't love saving money and getting things for free!

I took a trip to Rite Aid and I got all the baby products for FREE! How did I do it??? Go here to find out. I had a coupon for each item, some coupons from the newspaper and others I printed off the internet.

My trip to Walgreens, I got 4 deodorants for FREE. I had newspaper coupons and a Walgreens coupon for each deodorant. All I paid was $.37 tax.

I love that I almost never spend money on all of our toiletries!

Do you have any ways you save money? Do share!

Stockin' Up!

As you all know, I love to get a good deal on things! So, when I see items on sale at a great price, I try to stock up and buy several of the same item. I only buy things I know I will use. I did a little stockin' up on several items that we use frequently, here is what I got...
My trip to Target...total spent $12.48! Of course, I used lots of coupons!
My trip to Safeway...total spent $5.69 Again, I used lots of coupons!

20 yogurts
8 bottles of juice
6 bottles of hot sauce
4 bottles of soy sauce
2 fajita seasoning packets
5 tubes of tooth paste
5 bags of chips
1 1/2 dozen eggs
Total spent $18.17

Here are a few tips if you are interested in saving money...

I use a website called the krazycouponlady.com to help me find my deals and print coupons from. Go here to check it out.

I buy several Sunday newspapers, so that I get multiple coupons of the same item.

I NEVER spend money on the following toiletry items...
toothpaste
toothbrushes
dental floss
contact solution
deodorant
body wash
Tampons
pads
I get them free, by using coupons! It's amazing the amount of money you can save just on toiletry items! If you feel overwhelmed by the process of coupon shopping, just try to focus in this area and you can still experience some great savings!

Be willing to try other products. I know it is easy to have your favorite brand of toothpaste or deodorant, but then you might have to pay out of pocket for them!

Good luck!

Stockin' Up...

Right now is a great time to stock up on some of the things I use often. I try to use a lot of coupons when doing my grocery shopping and my trip today to Target was no different. I like to get things at a really good deal and when I find it, I stock up. My total before coupons was $57.49. I had $32.60 in coupons and only paided $24.89 out of pocket! I know this may not seem like a big deal to you, but it is to me and I always want to be a good steward of the money God has blessed us with!
