our kitchen is almost finished, just a few random things to paint. we had such a nice weekend, that we worked outside instead of inside. i'm very thankful we saved our pennies for this, because i love it!
my husband did an amazing job on all the shelves he built! thanks to Mr. Haney and all of his great advice!
all of our paint came from Sherwim-Williams. the gray paint we use on the cabinets is called mineral deposit and the white that we used on the upper cabinets, shelves, breadboard, etc. is called alabaster.
i'm in love with my smooth countertops...we went with silestone. it's called norte blanco.
eventually, we need a new stove, but we will have to save up for that.
A few things i learned...
kitchen redo's are a ton of work and your whole house it disrupted because of it. let me refresh your memory...here and here.
it's not for the faint-hearted. we spent 3 months on it and at times, i was so ready to be done, but you just have to keep going or be content with living in a disaster zone!
painting cabinets, takes so many steps...sand them, clean them, prime them, paint them, sand them again, paint them....it's really not that much fun, but i do like the end result!

Wow! Your kitchen is stunning! Everything about this kitchen is beautiful, but what I love the most is the simplicity of design which gives the space elegance and sophistication. And the using globes as decors is ingenious!

I find your kitchen so fascinating. I just wonder how came up with using globes as your kitchen decor. Perhaps I may assume that you're into geography. Hehe! Nonetheless, your concept was really one of a kind! It's definitely one thing that will remind me of you and your kitchen. :)

Simplicity made your kitchen look very fascinating. It looks very minimalistic and you actually maximized all your available space. I can see that your stove looks OK and I can't think of any reason to replace that. Well, you can have a good looking stove (in the future) than can match with all the furnishings and design of your kitchen. :)

ReplyDeleteI love the colors you've chosen, and the globe collection!
ReplyDeleteBut isn't the shelf above the stove a fire hazard? We had a microwave on a shelf like this that we replaced with a "built-in" for this reason.
You have a stunning kitchen, I must say that I love the design. I have never considered putting a set of globes as a feature on the shelf, it works wonderfully here. I really enjoy all of this, I wish that my own kitchen had a fun element to it.
