blessed

on tuesday mornings, i lead a bible study.

i always come home tired and hungry.

tired...in a good way, because there is just so much material we cover and sometimes God's word is so in-depth and takes a lot of brain power to study. our discussions are always great, but my head sometimes hurts.

hungry...because bible study lasts 2 1/2 hours. i'm usually starving by the time i get home.

this fall, i've been doing the study "David" by Beth Moore. it has been fabulous! it's a very in-depth study and each day i spend at least an hour working on it. i don't know about you, but it isn't always easy to carve out time to study God's word.  so many things can easily distract me...my kids, laundry, emails, errands...the list could go on and on.  bottom line...it is something i have to make happen and be intentional about each day, because it can easily get pushed to the wayside.   it takes a lot of work and determination, but it is worth it.  not only for myself, but for the benefit of others too.

last week, i came downstairs and saw my little lady sitting at the counter, eating her breakfast and reading her bible.  it was in that moment that God blessed me and reminded me that making time for Him is not only for my benefit, but also reminded me that my little lady is watching and picking up on what is really important.

i don't always get is right, i make mistakes everyday, and i ask my children to forgive me a lot, but i see that my love for God's work is spilling over onto my kids.  it doesn't always come easy to spend time with Him, but when I see my little lady wanting to spend time reading God's work, i'm thankful He is capturing her heart too.

  1. I have to admit, I stopped looking at your blog a lot..busy-ness and I joined facebook too. Darn, I shouldn't have!

But also, you amaze me with what you craft, cook, and do with your kids...sometimes it makes me feel so jealous. I don't know how you do it and I know the Lord doesn't want us to compare each other. Something I have to work on.

Still...your kids are the most blessed kids ever. If you come stay with Darci and Matt..will you visit and do a craft with my moms group!
