happy birthday Jesus party

on saturday, we had a party and invited some of our friends to join us. it was a morning filled with food and fun to celebrate Jesus's birthday. everyone dressed in pajamas...except me because i didn't have anything decent to wear. i need to get some for next year!

on the menu~
a fruit Christmas tree
candy cane pancakes...topped with whipped cream, syrup, powdered sugar and red sprinkles!

we read J is for Jesus, a great story about the meaning of the candy cane.

we made an ornament.

of course it won't be a birthday party without cupcakes!

and our guests went home with a little gift...candy cane play dough.

i will be sharing more of the details with you this week!

  1. I just LOVE it! How did you make the candy cane ornaments? I'd love to make these with my son's class this coming Wednesday.

    Merry Christmas!

  2. I love how you are focusing on the true meaning of Christmas! It looks like everyone there was having fun. I especially love your pancakes and ornaments (did you put paint inside?). I need to read that book - it looks like a good one!
