Hummus Dip

I found a yummy recipe to make hummus, instead of buying it already made at the store. I'm trying to make my $40 a week food budget work, by not buying a lot of snacks at the store. Instead, I'm trying to come up with things I can make, which in turn keeps the cost very low. It's super yummy! I wish I would have had this recipe in PNG!

1- 15oz can of garbanzo beans
1 onion, chopped
6 cloves garlic
3 tablespoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons tahini (OR creamy peanut butter is a great substitute)
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Place beans, onion, garlic, lemon juice, tahini, salt, pepper and half of the olive oil in food processor. Process until smooth. Place in serving dish and drizzle with remaining olive oil. Serve with tortilla or pita chips!

  1. I'm going to have to try that recipe! Thanks for sharing!!! I'm amazed at your goal of $40 a week! I wish I could do that! It's amazing how much the store prices here went up in the 8 months we were gone. =( I feel like I'm spending SO much there... and it's not even buying snacks and such, but just the basics.
