map wreath

i simply LOVE maps and globes!

it's probably because i have a LOVE for traveling.

or maybe it's an addiction to traveling...

hi, my name is melissa and i'm addicted to traveling.

i just love going to new places...

so, this was my inspiration for this project.
an old atlas that i found at the thrift store for a couple of bucks.

i used cardboard for my wreath form.

cutting the book apart was the hardest part of the project.

i rolled up each page and then glued it, to hold it's shape.

i glued the rolled pages to my cardboard wreath. at the end, I added a piece of wire to the back and glued it onto the cardboard wreath, so the wreath would have something to hang from.

i also made one out of sheet music for Christmas. check it out here.

  4. Fabulous wreath and I love the idea of using the maps! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I think I bought that mold at the dollar store here in New Zealand - but any silicon mold would do!
Thanks again - look fotrward to seeing more of your projects.

  5. Hey!!!! I made a map wreath this week too! How funny! Yours is very cute and I like how each page has the white border showing, mine doesn't.
