Theme~ 4th of July
Activities~
We have had 2 days of fun! Yesterday, we took the Light Rail downtown, which my little lady loved, since it was her first train ride. We went to the Civic Center Park to watch a Symphony Concert and fireworks show. The Civic Center Park, is kind of like the mall in D.C. at one end sits the capital building and the other was the court house. We got there and had a picnic dinner while we waited for it to get dark. At dusk, the concert began and the court house was lit up with lights and would change according to the music. At the end, there was a beautiful fireworks show, while the concert played patriotic songs! Today, we had a nice BBQ with some fun food! Happy 4th of July!
On the Menu~
corn on the cob
BBQ chicken
potatoes
Stain Glass Jello
red, white and blue fruit kabobs
sweet tea
Preparations~
My little lady and I made a some decorations to make our day festive! We made some garland out of fabric, cording, then sponge painted it with a star shape. Super easy and had sort of a vintage look to it, which I love! I also made a table runner out of 3 bandanas. Then I trimmed the ends with red rick rack. We also made some pin wheels to sit in a tin can as our center piece.
